With academics gaining importance and dominance in the school syllabus, many educational institutions have opted for substituting extracurricular subjects like Art, Sports and Music with subjects like IT etc. This has resulted in controversy of sorts, as many experts feel that this will have negative impact on the pupils but some feel this bring in numerous advantages.- - IELTS ESSAY
People who think that adding subjects would deal a damaging blow to health of students as they are already pressurized by an increasing ratio of studies in daily routine of young ones and adding more burden of studies on young minds would lead to undue stress, which would ultimately result in deterioration of mental and physical health of the pupils.-
IELTS ESSAY
Besides having negative impact on the health, adding more academic content would rob children of their already shrinking free time because it would result in an unprecedented increase in intensity of class work and home assignments thus leaving little time for young ones to participate in other extracurricular activities. Experts feel sports and other activities play important role in personality development of child and lesser participation would mean creating hurdles in children picking up hints about better personal and social life.

On the contrary, advocates who lobby for substituting extracurricular activities with academic subjects feel that these changes would prove helpful in preparing children for competitive challenges they would have to face later in their careers. As per them, rising competition has made skill development a critical aspect and it will be better if students start preparing at a much younger stage in order to gain proficiency in their fields.
In conclusion, I feel that adding more academic subjects is meting out injustice to children and this would have a longer lasting impact on kids. IELTS ESSAY

Tourism is a modern form of colonialism. It distorts local economies, causes environmental damage and ruins the places it exploits. To what extent would you support or reject this idea? - IELTS ESSAY

Nowadays, tourism is becoming a Pan global phenomena that is spreading to the various corners the world, giving people an oppurtiunity to interact with the civilizations that were considered aliens a little while ago. It is becoming a potent industry that is fueling growth in the nations that are being explored by the tourists.

There is no similarity to be cited between the colonialism and the Tourism, because colonialism was by force and made slaves, whereas tourism is creating an interaction between people and creating bonds.
Tourism is turning into a profitable source of funds for the economies. It helps the governments to generate huge revenues, which are channelized to preserve the Monuments and locations in their originality. Tourism also creates awareness and respect among the local populace for their Heritage. Besides this, enormous potential for new employment opportunities and the growth and development of the infrastructure are generated thus fueling the components of the economies. For e.g. the site that is promoted attract a constant flow of the tourists, which brings along improvements in various basic and infrastructural facilities, right from transportation, Hotels, Health, Communications etc..

Although there are strong critics to tourism, their perceptions make them purists and forbid intermingling. For e.g. in the orthodox society of the Middle east, feels that this factor is damaging their Society, as when the travelers arrive from west, they bring along their culture and mannerisms, which are unacceptable. There is one more factor that aids the point of contention of the detractors of tourism, as some irresponsible tourists do behave irrational and go around littering and defacing the Monuments.

In conclusion, I think, whatever critics feel, the dynamics of tourism is a commendable source of Inspiration for the economies and the people world over, in commercial as well as the Cultural.

Many people keep dogs and cats as companions. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of pet ownership for the animals involved and for the community as a whole.

Humans have been domesticating animals since they started settling down in form of communities and settlements. Canine and feline animals have been considered to be closer to heart by some people. This practice has also drawn flak from other members of community who feel that keeping pets is inhuman and cause of disturbance to others and this practice should be discontinued.
Keep canine and feline animals as pets is quoted as merit laden concept by many people. As per them, these animals are human friendly and they successfully adapt themselves to the conditions in which their human masters live without many changes in their own living rhythms. These four legged beings also sometimes fill the void of lonely people who either live alone or do not have families and children. Besides being considered as companions by lonely people, some families consider these humble beings as part of families.
Besides filling the voids, animals like dogs also act as guards and protectors for the families and people living around. Many families love to keep specific breed of hunting and guard dogs as they help in maintaining a strict vigil against any unwanted intruders and trespassers inside the colonies and neighborhood. Similarly, felines are considered to be good antidotes against pests like rats and moles.
On other hand, there are many detractors to this practice. As per them these animals are a big nuisance for the neighborhood. People often complain of disturbance by these very pets on account of disturbance because of consistent barking by domesticated dogs day and night and cats sneaking into next doors and creating ruckus. Moreover, children of neighborhood often run the risk of being bitten by these pets.

To conclude, I personally feel that keeping pets has more benefits than drawbacks.

Do the benefits of Eco Tourism far outweigh its drawbacks? Discuss and give your views.

Nowadays, Eco tourism is often being quoted as green tourism and it fast gaining prominence around the world. Many environmentalists and governments have started professing about the benefits of this branch of travelling, while there are several staunch critics who feel that Eco tourism is actually generating more problems than providing solutions.

Eco tourism is believed to be beneficial in many ways, as it does not exploit and disturb the sanctity of the location and the areas surrounding the sites being visited by the tourists. The green tourism also proves helpful for the locals living in that specific territory as it strives to involve locals living in and around the site of interest which ensures employment and self sufficiency for the local inhabitants. This in turn also prevents influx of outsiders in these areas thus helping in preserving the sanctity of the area.

Besides this, the eco tourism is also playing an important role in creating awareness about the importance of preserving environment. The areas being explored as part of nature tourist sites and spots are not developed on lines with the commercial tourism, i.e. they are left untouched and untamed. Educational travel based on natural attractions is also proving to be a promising medium of promoting social, economic, and environmental goals especially in developing nations.

However, nature tourism is also leading to destruction of forest and marine habitats and several wild species are being driven to the brink of extinction due to pressures created by of illegal hunting, logging, agriculture, and fishing. Furthermore, the poor nations who are maintaining these locations lack appropriate funding sources to manage and preserve them.

To conclude, I personally feel that although nature tourism has many demerits, its benefits cannot be overlooked and ignored.

Some people say that having a lot of TV channels is good, while others argue that it reduces the quality of programs. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Write at least in 250 words with relevant examples from your own experience.

The advent and subsequent spread of electronic audio visual entertainment, like television has bought in a renaissance of sorts – where the entertainment has become audience centric – and has led to rise in number of television channels that target specific segments. This has also led to deterioration in the quality of programs being aired.

An increment in number of channels is a result of innovative program planning undertaken by television studios producing and airing shows to suit the taste of targeted audience so that people - not intending to watch unwanted programs- do not need to switch off their television sets. The channels being aired have become subject specific, for instance, the channels associated with travel and lifestyle continuously show programs on various topics connected to this domain. This helps the viewers in gaining more knowledge in their area of interest, besides entertaining themselves.

Moreover, more television channels means broader perspective and wider choice of programs and presentations – where each channel tries to present an event or a happening from a different angle – which off course prove very advantageous for the viewers; as they are able to gather more information and form a well-informed opinion.

However, the sudden mushrooming of the television channels has also led to deterioration of the quality of the programs being aired. The channels, in a bid to overcome their competition, try to include more and more programs in the iternary schedule, most of which lack imagination, resourcefulness and freshness. Every other show, especially the television serials and music shows look stale and lack taste.

To sum up, I personally feel that though a sudden explosion in number of channels may have affected the quality to an extent, nevertheless, this trend has enabled audience to watch and enjoy the shows it wants.
